these are the first with handles..joman develops handles after the first 500 yrs..as the pots were used as cooking utensils, and were then taken from the coals and used to pour.

this post is one of my recent sculpts.. Raymond, in particular, was a good friend..he is a principal in rj models, model shop in Shenzen, China..on one of my casino projects..he was an interesting study and a great friend..
I have done several commissions, and would like to do more. also included, a sculpt of a zulu wedding gear, called africana man.. he is totally bronze and gold colored, raku fired (difficult at 25 pounds of clay). still have him in my living room.

RAKU POTTERY BY RAMOREN

THIS POST IS A POT JUST COMPLETED THIS YEAR. THESE PHOTOS ARE FROM THE GREEN STAGE OF UNFIRED CLAY. THE POT IS HANDBUILT ON A DECORATED THROWN BASE, IS APPROXIMATELY 16" HIGH, 13" WIDTH, AND WILL POST PHOTOS OF FINISHED GLAZED RAKU FIRE..THE COLORS ARE CREATED BY COPPEROXIDE GLAZE, CUSTOM MIXED TO PROVIDE A RANGE FROM GOLD,SILVER,DARK METALLIC BLUE, AND REDS, TO GREENS AND LIGHT BLUES.. THE POT IS LAYERED IN DESIGN LIKE A ROSE OR ANY ORGANIC FLOWER.
